Boom Publishers asked me to design the product style for the new Boom student monitoring system, the ‘Boom LVS’. This student monitoring system is available in two versions: Core (Arithmetic, Comprehensive Reading, Spelling) and Complete (Mental Arithmetic, Technical Reading).
A teacher or supervisor must be able to see at a glance which test they need. Optimal recognition of the various components was therefore a key requirement.
The product style includes clear, recognizable elements, that is: the reliable Boom LVS logo, the five playful typographic patterns, a striking color palette and consistently applied typographic principles. The color palette creates a clear unity within the Boom LVS and makes the individual sets highly recognizable. The consistent approach gives the tests a reliable appearance. The design, choice of materials and finish of all items reinforce the positive perception.
The Boom LVS sets, digitally drawn here, include a user manual, booklets and sheets containing the answers, score booklets, instruction cards, test booklets, test sheets, score sheets, score templates, and reading cards. All components have been completely redesigned within this newly developed graphic aproach.
